It is an exciting time to join this business on their impressive and ambitious growth journey. They are seeking a Head of the Programme Management Office (PMO) to help deliver their transformational delivery strategy.
Key responsibilities
Leading our client through various transformational delivery programmes towards a ‘digital first’ philosophy and ultimately increased revenue growth.
The line management includes the programme and project managers, as well as the Business Analysts, but wider than this, the role will lead across our senior management layer too.
- Our client has ambitious growth plans and they are passionate about how they evolve the delivery function not through documentation and processes but by putting the user at the heart of what they do.
- Within this role you will be leading a team of Project and Programme Managers in house and working with the outsourcing.
- You will be building the function that delivers continuous strategic alignment against the business needs, providing the leadership, direction and assurance to all stakeholders.
- You will need to have the confidence to challenge stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcome for the organisation as a whole.
- You will need to work across functions, providing the leadership, direction and assurance to in-house stakeholders that the methodologies, process, tools and culture are in place to deliver high-quality, high-impact services at scale.
Candidate Requirements
- Good knowledge of current and emerging technologies, technology directions and strategic application to our business needs.
- Knowledge and expertise of shaping programmes and digital projects.
- Excellent leadership background with the ability to build and motivate a high performing team and also leading cross functional teams in a technology matrix environment.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and rapport building skills with the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms.
- High level of agility with the ability to work in an ambiguous environment to improve operational performance.
- Have a great deal of integrity, you’ll need to be making decisions that support the whole business.
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to present to a variety of audiences including the Board of Directors.
- Producing plans and schedules and breaking down work in to meaningful and deliverable work items that you can effectively communicate to the sub-teams.
- Embed a culture of continuous improvement enabling us to ultimately deliver at pace.
- Good working knowledge of budget planning, financial management and resource allocation.
