Internally the role is know as Inclusion Lead and the two positions are offered on a fixed term contract or internal secondment basis. One role is for 11 months, one is for 2 years.
What it's like to work here:You’ll be based within the Inclusion and Belonging Team, a central team within our people department that leads the National Trust’s work on inclusion, diversity, wellbeing, children and young people and safeguarding. You’ll report to the Head of Inclusion and Belonging.
Your contractual location will be our Head Office in Swindon, with the role requiring travel to our head office to meet with colleagues and to carry out work. However, there will be an opportunity to explore and agree hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. Many of us in the team work flexibly and we’d be very happy to discuss flexible working with you.
What you'll be doing:As one of the two Inclusion Leads you will be focussing on supporting our staff networks and Inclusion Council and delivering organisational-wide inclusion calendar activities. You’ll be developing methods of furthering knowledge, skills and confidence to embed inclusion in all that we do through creating learning tools, resources and development opportunities.
You’ll manage the Trust’s relationships with external organisations, such as Stonewall and Purple Space, and identify opportunities for external partnerships. You’ll be responding to internal and external queries about inclusion, leading and supporting projects and providing advice and guidance to the whole organisation.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Thorough and up to date knowledge of equity, diversity and inclusion, including legislative frameworks, with the ability to translate theoretical knowledge into practical application
- Experience of developing inclusive practice and translating this into accessible guidance, training and policy
- Communication skills with the ability to listen to staff and volunteers, creatively interpreting information to meet a wide range of needs
- Experience in developing and delivering creative solutions, from concept to launch, to build inclusive cultures and capabilities across a range of internal stakeholders
- Expertise in providing equity, diversity and inclusion advice, guidance, recommendations and support
- Experience of working with staff networks and critical friends, ensuring that specialist knowledge and lived experience is incorporated into organisational inclusion approaches
- Demonstrable experience in using people insights and data to drive inclusive practice
