Job Introduction
We are looking for a Resource Scheduler for the West region. BBC West has a team of over 100 dedicated multi-skilled journalists, programme makers, technical operators and engineers working to produce online, television, radio and audio content seven days a week . We cover Bristol, Wiltshire, Somerset and Gloucestershire from our bases in Taunton, Gloucester, Swindon and Bristol.
Main Responsibilities
Working to a Lead Resource Scheduler, you will effectively schedule resources including staff, facilities and equipment as appropriate in accordance with production and transmission requirements, conditions of service and objectives of the operational areas. You will be the primary point of contact for staffing requests, from the local management teams, Network News and member of the team themselves. You may be asked to act up as the senior resource scheduler on occasion.
Are you the right candidate?
- experience of scheduling staff and/or resources in a busy department
- demonstrates excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong people skills and to drive effective and positive working relationships with a wide range of clients, colleagues and staff
- proven knowledge of the BBC Pay and Conditions of Service and Working Time Directive
- knowledge of related policy, practice and procedures
- excellent knowledge of Microsoft suite of applications
- experience of the challenges of live daily programmes
