Blacker Hall Farm Shop in Wakefield is looking for energetic Front of House team members to join our busy Restaurant, The Barn Kitchen! Working only sociable day time hours, including one day at the weekend, you will become an essential member of the team providing our customers with the high quality food and amazing service that they have come to expect. We’re proud to say all the produce you will be working with is either home- reared on our family farm or sourced from other great local farms and suppliers.

Blacker Hall Farm Shop was established in 2001, born out of John Garthwaite’s passion to sell his grass fed beef direct from the family farm to the customer. What was once a small farm shop and butchery has now grown into a thriving business employing over 100 local people comprising of a full carcass butchery, fishmongers, delicatessen, restaurant, food to go, greengrocery, drive thru and working farm. We’ve stayed true to our heritage and today all the pork and beef we sell at Blacker Hall is still home reared on the family farm here in Wakefield.
The team is passionate about providing exceptional quality products and we pride ourselves on exceptional customer experience.
Blacker Hall opened The Barn Kitchen restaurant over 12 years ago and today we serve over 400 covers each day. Whether customers choose a full English, seasonal special, traditional roast or our Signature Afternoon Tea. Everything is made here from scratch using the very best seasonal and local produce, most of which is from our own family farm here in Wakefield!
WHAT WE CAN OFFER...
- Ideally we are looking for someone to work full time hours, but would also consider 3 or 4 days.

- You’ll love working with people and understand the importance of amazing customer service

- You have a positive “can do” attitude to solving problems in a professional and courteous manner
- You will be well organised and punctual with an eye for detail
- You want to be part of a team that works hard, supports each other and above all has fun along the way
- Ideally, you’ll have some previous front of house experience.
YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES ...
- Welcoming customers when they arrive at The Barn Kitchen
- Introducing customers to the menu and daily specials and answer any questions about menu items, including ingredients and allergens
- Taking customers’ orders for food and drink and processing payments
- Preparing teas, coffees and cold drinks – previous barista experience would be an advantage
- Delivering food and drinks to customers at the table • Ensuring that customers are enjoying their meals
and overall experience at Blacker Hall Farm, Barn Kitchen
