Salary: £35,500 - £41,700

About the role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of operational tasks to ensure accurate delivery of results; you will use your insight and drive to develop your team members' professional capabilities and promote a collaborative team culture.
Additionally, you will review operational schedules and quality standards, promoting continuous improvement - contributing towards the achievement of the company's strategic and operational objectives.
You will manage the growth and success of your team, promoting a self-reflecting culture, whist deputising for the AS & Marking Manager where required. We would also expect you to make operational decisions using your initiative and escalate appropriately when needed. Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Building relationships for an effective collaboration with internal stakeholders such as Operations within Cambridge International and the wider Cambridge University Press and Assessment Group.
- Ensuring that communication between departments is ongoing and utilised to maintain an environment of continuous improvement.
- Providing a leadership support function to teams and motivating staff to achieve divisional goals.
- Provide input and advice on the design of key product, system and procedural developments ensuring that all changes are fully tested prior to production implementation.
- In collaboration with the AS & Marking Manager, design a suite of ad hoc reports for the Senior Management Team.
- Implementation of any new policies and procedures relating to processes.
- Identifying any skills gaps in the organisation and undertaking recruitment programme to support this. This includes the training of staff and managers to ensure that everyone is performing adequately in their role.
About you
With a diverse operational background, you will have a proven track record in a management position demonstrating successful team leadership. You'll have excellent communication skills as managing a team and the expectations of other stakeholders is more than just meeting deadlines, it's about building long lasting relationships.
You will have experience of working in a challenging and busy environment with the ability to analyse and understand complex processes, with a constant focus on improvement and innovation. To be successful in this role, you will be able to work to tight deadlines and can effectively prioritise workload.
