All About the Role
Based at our Barrett Engineering Steel site Tipton Road, Tividale. We are looking for a passionate and committed Material Handler to be part of our skilled and dedicated work force. This is a nightshift role the hours are Sunday to Thursday 10 pm to 6 am.
Specific tasks could include:

Pick computer generated orders with repetitive handling/lifting of heavy and large item.

Loading, cutting (Saws) and offloading of steel.

Ensure all documentation is correctly actioned for accuracy of stock.

Transferring stock to its location using a Forklift truck.

Assisting in the overall production and dispatch of customers’ orders

Keep work area clean and tidy maintain high levels of Health and Safety.

Be adaptable and flexible in approach to work to meet operational requirements.

Operate machinery (only when trained to do so)

Essential Skills for the role:

The successful candidate will ideally already have experience as a saw operative although training can be given to the right candidate.

You should be used to working safely, adhering to all health and safety procedures

Have a flexible attitude, be results oriented, and enjoy working in a team environment

Ideally you will be able to use mobile equipment (FLT, overhead crane)

The ability to read written instructions & record accurately work carried out
