Keep the drinks flowing – this is what’s often perceived as the sole aim for bar teams. Whilst this is still essential, there’s a whole lot more that goes into creating exceptions experiences in our bars. Barbacks work tirelessly making sure all the necessary equipment and tools to operate the bar are in perfect working order and without those efforts, the guest experience can be highly impacted. Working behind a bar can be challenging, so you’ll need to be prepared for the high demand and fast pace. Don’t let the high intensity put you off though, seeing a room of guests enjoying themselves because of your service is extremely rewarding!
As well as managing the requests of your team and potentially even guests, you’ll need to work effectively with floor team, kitchen teams, hosts, and of course, your fellow bar team. Clear communication across all departments makes for exceptional guest experiences, which is what we always strive for at our venues, making teamwork an essential element to your day-to-day role.
