About Us

i2i Pipelines is a sensor technology company, simplifying and reinventing oil, gas and utility pipeline inspection by integrating smart sensors with simple pig design. Based at our head office in Manchester, our tools are manufactured inhouse and distributed globally.

Job Summary

We are looking to recruit an experienced Workshop Operator to join our manufacturing department in Manchester

The successful applicant will have experience of following Technical Drawings, Bills of Materials and skilled using a wide range of tools to assist in the Manufacture and Assembly of our Pipeline Inspection tools for global distribution.

Part of the role will involve mixing polyurethane resins and foam, setting up moulds and pouring to a required finish. Any experience in anything similar to this is desirable and should be highlighted.

Another part of the role is working with composite materials including carbon and glass fibre, preparing moulds and applying material around our sensor technology.

Responsibilities

- Following BOM and Technical drawings, manufacturing sub components, and assembling as a finished inspection tool. Materials used include Composite, Polyurethane, Foam, Sensors, Metalwork, Generic Fixings and Assemblies, all built on a custom electronics system housed in a Pressure Housing (Electronics provided by our inhouse electronics team, NO electronics experience required)

- Have a broad understanding and experience of hand and power tools, their safe and correct operation (Pillar Drills, Sanders, Saws, Sand Blasting, wrenches, impact guns)

- Working under your own initiative to complete projects as required, liaising directly with colleagues in other departments either to get the components required, or to pass on finished items for testing.

- Use initiative and knowledge to develop and improve processes/efficiencies/quality, recommend improvements and give feedback on ease of assembly/improvements required.

- Keep all department equipment maintained, ensuring area is kept clean and tidy.

- Be responsible for the wellbeing and health & safety of both yourself and fellow workers.

Personal Attributes:

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy levels.

- Willing to be involved in improvement activities.

- Comfortable communicating with people at all levels and have a positive approach to challenging situations.

- Ability to follow within set guidelines procedures and to follow work instructions / manuals.

- Strong experience with Technical Drawings/BOM and hands on assembly experience

What we can offer

We have just relocated to Salford, M5 3LW and you must already live in the local Manchester area.

Job Type: Full-time, Mon - Fri

40 hours per week (8 hours per day, 8:30am start until 5:30pm finish, 1 hour lunch).

Salary - starting from £24,000 depending on experience, please let us know your expectations

24 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
