Job title: Café Assistant
Hours: Part Time and Full Time Hours available
We have an exciting opportunity for a Café Assistant to join the Clifton Observatory team! We are looking to recruit an organised, confident and cheerful experienced candidate to assist in the day to day operations of the café, whilst providing a high level of service within a busy environment.
An applicant must be available to work flexible hours including weekends and some evenings. There will also be the opportunity to work the events held in the Clifton Observatory and on reception.
Key duties will include:
- Ensuring high levels of customer service
- Maintaining a pleasant environment for guests at all times
- Answering telephone calls
- Opening and closing down the Clifton Observatory 360 Cafe including; cashing up and cleaning down
- Food and beverage preparation
- Serving of alcohol and complying with ID checks
- Ensuring health & safety and hygiene guidelines are adhered to at all times
- Maintaining records and checklists
- Assisting with stock rotation, replenishment and deliveries
- Complying with all food and beverage regulations
- Cash handling and operating the till system and card machine
- Communicating effectively with customers, the Observatory Manager and rest of the team
The ideal candidate will be comfortable with:
- Cash handling
- Providing a high-quality level of service
- Barista training
- Bar work
- Working on your own

- Excellent communication skills
- Friendly and outgoing personality
- Flexibility with working hours
- Reliable and a team player
- Experience in the hospitality environment
- Understanding of food & hygiene standards
Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 24 per week
Salary: £10.42-£11.27 per hour
