The Manager of Consumer Communications (Homesense) will work within the Brand & Marketing Function playing a critical role within the Homesense marketing team to lead comms strategy and activation for Homesense in the UK.
Managing a small team plus our agency partners you will be responsible for developing and executing the communications strategy and plans for a range of business stakeholders across the Brand and Marketing Hub and UK Country Marketing function.
Key responsibilities

Be responsible for delivering a clear and comprehensive Communications vision and strategy for Homesense and take responsibility for sharing this vision and upskilling others

Drive the development of ownable and impactful comms messaging for Homesense that is aligned with the Brand Platform and campaigns and become a guardian of messaging and tone of voice
- Be responsible for promoting and protecting Homesense consumer reputation in collaboration with the wider communication and reputation team and our agencies.
- Responsible for Inter-Agency alignment and integration across Campaign Marketing, Media and Comms

Responsible for developing and activating annual comms brand plan, social media strategy and content and influencer strategy and content.
- Responsible for developing a comms strategy to maximise prioritised cross-functional opportunities for comms (cross-shopping, Treasure, gift cards)

Responsible for developing and activating a consumer facing reputation strategy for HS

Take responsibility for reporting and metrics to ensure actionable insights/outcomes and best practice

To report, control and monitor the communications annual budget, whilst pro-actively anticipating future challenges or opportunities impacting budget.

Build and develop strong relationships with key business partners within B&M team, E-commerce, Buying, Retail, Store Operations and Store Trading
Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Significant professional experience in communications (Agency or Client side), ideally in a leadership role. Omnichannel experience preferred but not essential. Homeware / retail experience desirable.
- Proven track record in development and delivery of Comms strategy and tactics within a wider integrated marketing campaign and particularly within Earned, Influence, Social and Experiential channels

Passion for creating first class content irrespective of channel and switched on to marketing trends
- Creative flair with a strong track record of delivering newsworthy and shareable content particularly within the earned media sphere

Experience of managing teams and external agency relationships
- Adept in devising operational processes and procedures to improve efficiency including budget management
- On top of industry news with a passion for Comms innovation in particular within Earned, Social, Influence and Experiential spheres

Solid understanding of social media. Experience of leading social media campaigns highly desirable
- First class writing skills across a variety of communication formats and excellent presentation skills
- Confident networker and diplomatic communicator with an ability to build relationships across geographies and functions
- Proven team and line management experience
- Experience of self-development, objective setting and performance management

Experience of working within a large retail business or matrix organisations (Preferable but not essential)

Solid project management skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
