Who are enfinium?

enfinium is one of the largest energy-from-waste businesses in the UK and an industry leader in the conversion of non-recyclable residential and business waste into heat and partially renewable power. enfinium currently has a platform of six (two in construction) strategically located facilities across the UK. Today, enfinium has an annual waste processing capacity of over 2.3 million tonnes, and a total combined electric generating capacity of 265MW (gross) - enough energy to power more than 500,000 UK homes. enfinium is owned by infrastructure investment funds managed by Igneo Infrastructure Partners

At enfinium we’re guided by five principles, we use these to make sure we’re not only doing a great job, but we’re doing it in the right and safe way:

One Team - Pride Matters - Safety on Purpose - Make a positive impact - Take Ownership

So what does an E, C&I Technician do?

You will be working alongside the maintenance team to carry out both ad-hoc and planned preventative and reactive maintenance on all mechanical aspects of the plant in a safe, compliant and commercially effective way to ensure operational continuity, reliability and performance of the plant.

As you advance through your apprenticeship and demonstrate competence your role and duties will expand in line with your modules.

What does the apprenticeship look like?

Year 1 – During year 1 you will be based at CATCH Stallingborough, this is where your journey begins in learning all that there is to know about being a Engineering Technician

Year 2 & 3 – During this time you will be based on site at Kemsley, throughout these two year you will have the opportunity to further understand and develop the skills by being on site and learning from your peers.

Your apprenticeship will conclude with an end point assessment where you will be evaluated by a practical observation, knowledge assessment and a technical interview. If you pass this, you will be awarded Technical Certificate in Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Maintenance and Level 3 NVQ (Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation) to be achieved once onsite with employer.

Beyond year 3 and once you have completed your apprenticeship, you will be able to explore career opportunities across the enfinium group
