Job Description

The Elephant Pub & Bakehouse is looking for a driven, enthusiastic & passionate Deputy Manager to join our team!

Rate of Pay

· £29,000+ 10% annual bonus – experience & role dependant.

· Option for 4 day working week available (business permitting).

· Based on a 48 hour working week.

· Pay is processed on the last Friday of every month

Rota Schedule

Shift patterns are flexible around venue opening times & demands.

To improve work-life balance, a flexible 4 to 5 day working week has been introduced and is available to suit the needs of each individual.

Ideal Candidate

Candidates applying for an Deputy Manager role with us are encouraged to demonstrate the following criteria:

· Drive & passion - having a can do, will do & want to attitude is at the heart of our business. As our Head of Food says; “no passion, no point”

· Our managers are encouraged to challenge the norm & use their creativity & initiativeto drive sales whilst building a venue that our team love to work in & our guests love to be in.

· Experience of working within a fast-paced food business.

· Capable of delivering 1000+ covers per week.

· Comfortable working within & managing a team of 60 Team Members.

· Achieving & maintaining a 5-star EHO rating.

· Confidence to let your personality shine within a floor-focused environment. 80% of your time must be spent on guest engagement, shift-running & team coaching.

· Evidence of strong financial control – Margins, payroll, P&L analysis.

· Evidence of successful project work in previous roles.

· Confidence with finding solutions and resilience to daily challenges.

Successful candidates must have a passion for fresh food & working in a fast-paced team environment. Working under the General Manager, you will be supported in delivering great guest experiences whilst developing your own skills and career.

The Elephant Pub & Bakehouse sits in the heart of Woolton Village, built in the 1800s, the name had changed from the ‘New Inn’ in 1837 to the ‘Woolton Hotel’ in the 1850s. In the 1860s the entrance portico roof had a full elephant statue, and it was renamed The Elephant in 1875. 19th century Victorian pub comprising of 110 internal covers, including a 45-seater function room. Our outside space is made up of a 100 cover beer garden, with outdoor bar. The Elephant’s beer garden has been voted one of best in Liverpool – hosting an annual summer fete attracting 5000 guests. Our Bonfire night & New year’s eve fireworks are legendary and we are proud to be the heart and soul of Woolton village - almost every Scouser has a story to tell about The Elephant!
