As the Head of Behaviour Change, you will inspire and lead Sustrans London’s Behaviour Change programme.
You will ensure the effective and efficient delivery of a range of projects that promote walking, cycling and wheeling in London. You will also make sure projects can evolve to meet demand and best practice standards in line with Sustrans’ aims.
Responsibility for ensuring that these projects are meeting performance and financial targets and delivering impact rests with you. You will review projects and, from time to time, stop those projects that are no longer delivering impact and work to create new opportunities.
A key member of our senior leadership team in London, you will build and manage internal and external relationships with representatives from central and local government, active travel delivery partners, communities, Transport for London and other key partners.
This role may require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans. This is a hybrid role; we offer the flexibility to work from home and at the Bethnal Green Hub.
You should have experience in leading, motivating and managing a high-performing team. In addition, we are looking for someone with experience in leading community-based or environmental projects within complex partnerships involving a wide range of internal/external partners, as this is an essential aspect of the role.
Using your excellent communication skills, you will be able to engage with and influence key representatives from government, Transport for London, local government and Active Travel Delivery Partners to effect change and deliver active travel in London.
We will look for evidence of your experience in delivering multiple high-quality behaviour change projects on time and within budget, using a repeatable methodology. You will be able to demonstrate a solutions-led approach to achieving change, with a commitment to creativity, innovation and quality.
We ask you to demonstrate your knowledge of transport and active travel infrastructure delivery and best practice as this will help you advocate for sustainable transport and better places across London.
We aim to be a truly inclusive employer and welcome applications from people from all parts of the community, in particular from under-represented groups.
Sustrans is committed to reducing inequality, valuing diversity and enabling inclusion.
- Closing date for the receipt of completed applications is 23:59, 30 April 2023.
