To work on a one to one basis with a young person with autism and associated communication and learning disabilities, to enable him to engage in a variety of community and leisure activities.
Main Duties:
- To support the young person to access community and leisure activities such as swimming, bowling, fun fair, parks, going for walks, visits to the beach etc.
- To manage any behaviour issues sensitively should they arise.
- Supporting the young person to develop confidence and independence
- Providing close supervision at all times maintaining the young persons safety in all settings
Hours:
4 hours per weekend (3 weekends out of 4 per month) plus an additional 8 hours per week in school holidays. Two positions could be considered one to cover weekends and one for school holiday hours.
Successful applicant must:
- Have experience working with children/young people with autism
- Have an outgoing personality
- Have a positive understanding towards people with disabilities
- Have a high degree of initiative
- Be flexible and reliable
- Respect confidentiality at all times
- Have a happy, positive and caring nature
Rate of pay:
£11.91 per hour.
Out of pocket expenses will be met by the Employer.
