We have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice to join our Felixstowe office and start an enjoyable and successful career within the Logistics industry. We are a small team who will offer a fun and motivating working environment, whilst providing support, learning and development. Full training will be provided to the successful candidate; therefore, experience is not necessary for this position – all we ask for is to be organised, punctual, motivated and have enthusiasm to learn!
As a Logistics Apprentice, you will have a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow with a team of supportive individuals who are professionals and have a passion for the industry. This position is a unique and exciting opportunity as it will allow the successful candidate to assist Fred. Olsen Logistics in the start to finish operation of freight forwarding operations. Including imports, exports, warehousing, distribution, and accounts.
Initially you will be trained on the following:

Day to day working with the transport and warehousing team

Booking in jobs
-
Dealing with sub-contractors and third-party haulage operators, booking, and managing jobs

Tracking all movements and informing clients of status of their delivery

Day to day working with the Forwarding department.

Customs clearance
-
Sales/ quotations
-
Releasing consignments
-
Arranging delivery/ collections
-
Day to day work with accounts department.
With experience the above duties will be added to in line with your training and qualification.
This is an Apprenticeship; the successful candidate will work towards the Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 qualification which has an estimated course duration of 12 – 15 months. This will be a work-based Apprenticeship, therefore there will be no requirement for a day release to College. You will have an allocated Assessor from an Apprenticeship training provider who will visit you in the work place and provide 1-2-1 training, support and guidance throughout the course.
You will be based in our office in Felixstowe (Howard House, Bryon Avenue, Felixstowe, IP11 3HZ) Please ensure you check the location to ensure this is accessible, due to bus links not running directly to our office.
This is a full-time position, working 35 hours per week Monday – Friday.
