Estate/Farm Manager £30,000 -£40,000 + two bedroom lodge accommodation in an idyllic setting near Hay-on-wye. This is a unique opportunity to help run, develop and maintain a small estate in a glorious setting on the edge of the Black Mountains in Herefordshire. The role involves hands on responsibility for the day to day running of a 112 acre estate including the farm (largely sheep), woodland, estate properties and grounds. You also have the opportunity to contribute to an arts centre and festival, and there is the potential to initiate and grow new ventures. Your own self contained lodge accommodation and garden is included with the role. We are located at the top of a valley on the edge of the Black Mountains only ten minutes from the famous book town of Hay, and 90 minutes from Bristol. The role includes but is not limited to: * The running and responsibility for farm accounts, acquisitions, and expenditure. * The management, welfare and nutrition of the stock. * The maintenance of fencing, hedges, and grass quality. * Responsibility for machinery and estate vehicles. * Landscaping, woodland, grounds and gardens maintenance. * The upkeep of property including basic plumbing, decorating and carpentry. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a passion for the land and the experience and skills needed to be able to carry out the role effectively and to make projects successful. You will be ambitious, creative, hardworking and highly organised. You will have experience of running your own projects and for guiding and directing others when required. You will be confident working on your own and as part of a team. Core computer skills and a full driving licence are necessary requirements.
