Are you looking for night work? Could you support adults with learning disabilities when they are wakeful during the night?
We are seeking a Waking Night Support Worker for a registered care service in Great Holm, supporting adults with learning disabilities and/ or autism. No experience necessary.
We are looking for someone who can work 22:00 – 07:30 Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
About the role
As a Waking Night Support Worker, your role will involve conducting regular checks on the people we support to ensure they are comfortable and getting a good night's sleep ready for the next day. You will also take part in routines before bed such as reading or watching TV, as well as making light suppers or snacks and ensuring everyone is ready for bed. There will also be cleaning and administrative duties to complete while on shift.
You will need to administer medication and provide personal care throughout the night. We will provide you with full training and with day-to-day help and advice from your service manager, deputy and senior practitioners throughout.
About the service
Great Holm is home to over 40 people of mixed ages and genders living within 16 residential flats. There is a large garden, outdoor gym and patio located on-site which everyone enjoys, especially on a sunny day.
You will be working as part of a large team making sure the people we support live as independently as possible. You will help them to access local facilities and remain active members of their community. Due to the aging population of our residents, it is not always about learning new skills although we would encourage this, but rather about maintaining the skills and independence our individuals already have.
