Job Description

What we are looking for:

Job Title: Resident Medical Officer (RMO) – Full-time

Salary: Circa £63,648.00

Department: Inpatients Wards

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 42 hours per week. Monday – Sunday

Shifts: 24 Hours Shift 8am to 8am. On-Call room available in the hospital accommodation

  • 24 hours on-duty
  • 72 hours off duty

The hospital specialises in a wide range of surgical and medical specialities, including Colorectal, Urology, Orthopaedics, Men’s Health and Women’s Health. It been the hospital of choice for several members of the British royal family.


Job Summary:

As a Resident Medical Officer (RMO) at King Edward VII’s Hospital, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients in our world-renowned hospital. You will work as a part of a team of medical professionals, including nurses, other doctors, and allied health professionals, to ensure that our patients receive the best possible care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting medical assessments and examinations of patients and providing appropriate treatment plans
  • Providing emergency medical care to patients in critical conditions
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and collaborating with other medical professionals to diagnose and treat patients
  • Monitoring and documenting patient progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary
  • Administering medication and other treatments as prescribed by other medical professionals
  • Providing counselling and education to patients and their families about health and medical issues
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring patient confidentiality
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care plans and progress
  • Participating in on-going professional development and training to maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical advances and best practices

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medicine or equivalent
  • Valid medical license and registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • At least 2-3 years of UK work experience in a hospital or healthcare facility
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required by the facility
  • Willingness to continually update knowledge and skills through on-going training and professional development
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK
