Job Introduction
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has been set up to provide health security for the nation by protecting from infectious disease and external hazards. It will act like no other organisation previously in order to mitigate threats to health before they materialise. UKHSA will be a trusted source of advice to government and to the public.
As a Culture Change Manager, you will be an already well-established values driven leader, who has successfully led and fully implemented, high impact cultural transformation programmes in a large and complex organisation. You will be able to demonstrate how your political acuity; excellent engagement skills and demonstrable knowledge of contemporary culture and engagement theories have significantly contributed to the transformed practices and performance of an organisation.
Home based with approximately 1 day a month in the office - Office Location 17 Smith Square, Westminster, London, SW1P 3JR
Main Responsibilities
- Impact and influence to build organisational commitment to achieve culture transformation. This includes articulating levels of commitment needed, assessing commitment, and planning the actions necessary to drive higher levels of engagement from stakeholders
- Ability to articulate the desired mindsets and behaviours that must be in place for cultural transformation, identifying any specific gaps that need to be addressed and map the degree of culture shift necessary to achieve our strategic intent.
- Ability to shape the meaning and behaviour attached to policies, practices and procedures employees experience
- Lead the design and delivery of inclusive culture development activity across the organisation
- Guide and support the programme manager to implement and deliver a culture road map, ensuring that all colleagues are prepared for the transformation
- Design, develop, and apply interventions to address predictable and unpredictable human dynamics
- Focus on managing the human aspects of executing change through planning and execution, leading the development of the change management and culture strategy plan and communications.
- Ability to pull together all elements that feed into an inclusive culture; strategic alignment, wellbeing, compassionate leadership, organisation values, teamworking, change capacity, policy and process development.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-changing environment and to meet challenging deadlines.
- Any other project related tasks, delegated by the programme manager
The Ideal Candidate
Ideal Candidate
- Qualification in Change Management or a related field
- Experience of spearheading large and complex programmes of culture change whilst bringing people along on the change journey
- Good knowledge and experience of stakeholder engagement in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of the planning and the scheduling of projects.
- Strong capability in using Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of information governance and information management, or willingness to learn
- CIPD membership is desirable or equivalent experience
- Experience of working in a government department
