Smart DCC are looking to add to their CEO office with a Deputy Chief of Staff. Your work will impact the very heart of the organisation and play a crucial role in supporting decision-making effectiveness of the CEO, the DCC Chair, Executive Committee (ExCo) and Board.
This would really suit an engaging character with fantastic interpersonal skills, a flair for influencing stakeholders and not only identifying but offering solutions to risks before they arise.
Working in a fast-paced environment and juggling a plethora of responsibilities, your work here will support overall strategic decision making at ExCo level.
This role offers great exposure to the Executive Committee and Board and your work will be helping protect consumers and make better use of cleaner, greener energy to power UK homes as part of DCC’s net-zero ambitions.
What will you be doing?

Management of the Executive Committee, the DCC Board and the Shareholder.

Plan the forward agenda. Understanding the business, key inflection points, risks, and key business deliverables, enabling the Executive, Board and Shareholder to have the right conversation at the right time.

Commission papers, review advice and briefing, clarify issues, and request additional information as necessary. Assist framing of ideas / papers so key asks and requirements are understood

Co-ordinate preparation and production of papers, and that these are outstanding in quality

Conduct quality assurance and review meeting material and ensuring timely dissemination to participants. This work will require close engagement with all parts of the business, lateral thinking and joining the dots.

Working with the Chief of Staff to improve DCC governance at Board, ExCo and business unit levels.
What are we looking for?

Previous experience gained in a management consultancy

Previous experience of the energy industry (ideal).

Previous experience of working in a business management or secretariat function.

Previous experience working in central government
