The UCL Division of Medicine has approximately 400 staff with 130 independent investigators and is one of the largest department in the Faculty of Medical Sciences, within the School of Life and Medical Sciences. The Division brings together clinical and non-clinical scientists in an interdisciplinary environment for world-class research, teaching and patient-care. The Division located across two campuses, i.e. the Bloomsbury Campus and the Royal Free Campus (based on the site of the Royal Free Hospital).
The Human Resources Manager is a key member of the Divisional administrative team and is responsible for leading human resources across the Division. The post holder will be based on the Bloomsbury Campus and line manage a Senior HR Officer. The post holder will work in close co-ordination with Divisional Finance and Research Administration, to provide a comprehensive divisional administrative service to relevant staff. Interviews will be held during week commencing 17 April 2023.
The postholder will carry out such duties as may be determined by the Divisional Manager or Divisional Director. S/he will be expected to exercise a high degree of responsibility and initiative. As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and amended in consultation with the postholder. The postholder will carry out any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the Divisional Manager. The post holder will be expected to actively support the Divisional Manager and Divisional Director with the work of the Division, undertaking tasks/projects and providing information/advice as required. He/she will be responsible for the line management of the Senior HR Officer reviewing workload, resource and training needs, conducting appraisal, and managing performance.
