We are looking for someone to join our small IT team of 5, to help maintain our systems, as well as to support the day-to-day tasks associated with IT Helpdesk. You'll be helping our IT department to support 300 staff across the UK, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Ireland, and Japan. This is a varied IT Systems Administrator role, with plenty of opportunity to grow and develop in the position.
As IT Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining our local area network (LAN) as well as all desktop systems and infrastructure currently deployed to our environment and in use by multiple internal business units (finance, video production, product development, marketing, sales, and human resources). You'll need to have good stakeholder management skills, and be proactive with helping colleagues' IT related questions.
The Role:
Employee workspace tools management and administration (eg. Email, messaging).
Maintaining current servers and network availability, and planning for improvements.
2nd Line Support of users and receiving escalations from our Service Desk Engineer.
Mentoring and developing skills of the IT team.
Maintaining and updating the IT asset registers for hardware, software and devices.
Windows/Mac OS deployments and patching via MDM solutions (eg JAMF/Intune).
Design and lead changes to network infrastructure across two physically connected sites.
Servers/Switches/CCTV maintenance and monitoring including backup solutions.
Configuration and testing a wide variety of IT hardware including servers (eg. Windows/DHCP, switches and firewalls).
Procurement and provisioning of devices, onboarding and offboarding of employees.
Liaising with 3rd party systems service suppliers for support issues.
Maintenance of our network, updating our firewalls and investigating issues.
Ensuring appropriate levels of backup and redundancy is available in accordance with business resilience guidelines.
Monitoring and managing network traffic, setup of VPN for approved users.
Research, development and testing of new solutions such as virtualized systems.
Proven history of corporate IT systems administration, servers, networks and desktop experience.
Understanding of ICT fundamentals and best practices within a business environment.
Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols including LAN / WAN / VLAN.
Network Administration experience or relevant qualification.
Cyber Security experience or relevant qualification.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Project Management experience.
