Job Description
We are now searching for new seasonal skippers to join our Jet Boats team.
The post would suit a mature person with RYA qualifications. Powerboat sailing experience is essential and you will need to demonstrate this on your CV. We will consider freelance contractors not seeking full time employment depending upon experience and qualifications.
Hours are up to 40 per week with some shifts during the weekends and evenings (finishing at 7pm on some nights) depending on demand.
Day to day not only includes driving our boats but involves selling our service to passing customers and helping keep the boat in good order on slower days, assisting with regular training to keep us all ship shape and helping out with other parts of the companies operations.
The job is easy once you are confident with the boats as Cardiff Bay is fairly quiet. The jet boats you will train on can be intimating but simple to handle with practice which typically take 1-2 weeks provided you have experience. You need to be able to get to and from Penarth Marina (near The Cardiff Barrage) as our boats dock in this area. Payment is minimum wage whilst training or waiting to become qualified, then £12.50 once your training and qualifications are complete.
The company will provide your uniform accessories (polo shirt, jacket and life jacket)
