The Bedford Estates, Bloomsbury Ltd, is custodian to some of the most historic green spaces in Bloomsbury; including Bedford Square Garden and Montague Street Garden and we are seeking an additional Assistant Gardener on a part-time basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for a knowledgeable Assistant Gardener to join our dedicated team; who will work with us to continue our journey to conserve our gardens heritage and give pleasure to our visitors and residents throughout the year.
Reporting to the Head Gardener and working alongside the existing Assistant Gardener, you will assist with the day to day upkeep of the Georgian Garden Squares along with commercial, residential and pavement-side gardens.
The Assistant Gardener will be a hard working and enthusiastic individual who personally aims for excellence. As a motivated self starter you will have previous experience of a broad range of gardening tasks, experience of using relevant tools and machinery and will be comfortable with lone working.
A recognised horticultural qualification is preferred.
The role is a part-time, 3 days a week, fixed term position.
The Bedford Estates has owned, developed and managed much of Bloomsbury, at the heart of Central London, since 1669.
