What does the role involve?
Reporting into the Head of Business Development, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for supporting Business Development strategy through the identification and development of new vendor programmes across all targeted vendor sectors. Providing regular updates on Business Development activities on new vendor programs and present findings to the Vendor Committee for decision making. The Business Development Manager will also manage a select number of existing customers and assist in the seamless transfer of newly established vendor programmes to the sales team. The Business Development team is a fast-paced environment covering a wide variety of activities ensuring every day is different and it provides a great platform for development within the vendor finance division.
Some of the main responsibilities will include:
- Work closely with Head of Business Development in developing new vendor relationships with vendors capable of delivering an ongoing deal flow.
- Evaluate and qualify new vendors to help determine whether vendors fit within agreed strategy and take a key role in developing business opportunities with approved vendors across European markets.
- Meet with vendors to discuss general and specific opportunities with the vendor and assist in the negotiation of required programme documentation in line with company guidelines,
- Meet with vendor and vendors' customers in person and via Teams/phone to discuss specific transactions and take a proactive role in identifying solutions.
- Meet with vendors within an agreed contact strategy to review pipeline, agree business development plans and establish and resolve any operational issues in a constructive manner.
- Manage assigned vendor relationships to develop a deal flow of incremental business in line with objectives set by Head of Business Development.
- Manage the vendor's transactional pipeline for qualified vendors on a day-to-day basis for a period of time to ensure programmes operates efficiently.
- Manage formal hand-over of the active programmes to the Sales team as agreed with Head of New Business.
- Manage the delivery of financial solutions to end user customers including initial transaction structuring while taking into account individual needs and keeping the best interests of internal and external stakeholders in mind
What are we looking for?
We are looking for an exceptional team player with proven experience working in the Asset Finance industry who can quickly build strong relationships with vendors, their sales team and customers. You will need to be able to manage all aspects of negotiations with vendors, identifying financing opportunities across the vendors supply chain – from vendor to end user.
