The Finance team at Volvo Car UK is a business partnering focus department responsible for a) Accounting, statutory reporting, tax, internal control, and procurement. b) Financial planning and analysis, management reporting, business planning and forecasting future scenarios. c) Improve performance, through business partnering support to all operational parts of Volvo Car UK. We are a diverse team of around 13 members, highly engaged, and on a mission to enable great business partnering support.

What you’ll do:
The purpose of the Data analyst is to provide data and insights support to the entire Finance department of Volvo Car UK and the wider organization, as well as liaise with our Digital department. The role will develop the functionally needed for Finance to be an agile and data driven team, using the latest digital tools and avoiding manual reporting process to the highest extent possible. This role involves a high degree of interaction with the Finance team and VCUK departments whilst requiring consistently high-quality strategic analysis and data management. Pro-actively search opportunities and make strategic plans to mitigate risk and avoid pitfalls in the area. Actively work to deliver goals and sustainable growth.

  • Own month end reporting and dashboard development for key P&L areas
  • Provide self-service Power BI dashboards to Finance Business Partners and be a key contact for any dashboard related queries
  • Support Finance Business Partners in tracking the performance of strategic initiatives
  • Map new data and reporting requirements that the Finance team will need as we transform from wholesale to a DTC business model. E.g., new inventory reports, FCA reporting, and total distribution cost.
  • Get involved with ad-hoc Analytics requirements or projects
  • Create efficiencies by automating as many reports as possible
  • Liaise closely with Digital department at VCUK as well as Headquarters digital and central commercial finance functions


What you‘ll bring:
We believe you are an analyst with some years of experience with measuring data. You have an interest to bring data together from multiple channels to derive insights and learnings.
Further, you are able to use data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI to bring the data to life.



You also have:

  • Ability to understand large data patterns, decipher what the underlying drivers are, and an ability to move data into insights
  • In collaboration with Finance Business Partners – aspire to move from delivering insights to foresight
  • Experience in building dashboards, identifying new and tracking key metrics to closely monitor performance and identifying quick and long-term opportunities for improvements
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to present and persuade complicated findings in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience and interest in building something new, not just maintaining existing processes
  • Good understanding of accounting and finance concepts, principles, and processes
  • Highly proficient with numbers
  • University degree in Computer science, Engineering, Finance or equivalent area
