The Royal Central School of Speech & Drama is looking for a Facilities and Maintenance Manager with adaptable skills in a number of areas of maintenance to join the Estates and Facilities team.
The role of Facilities & Maintenance Manager includes, maintenance, keyholding and portering tasks.
You will be responsible for general maintenance and management of the planned preventative maintenance programme supporting all aspects of the facilities department to included campus, grounds, security and helpdesk functions in line with KPIs’ and SLA’s set by the School. You will also be responsible for delegating maintenance and portering tasks to the Facilities Officers and appointed contractors.
The Facilities and Maintenance Manager role provides a great opportunity for someone looking to apply their knowledge in maintenance, carpentry and or plumbing to the existing estate and ensure compliance tasks are completed internally and with a range of external contractors to the buildings ranging from 1800’s through to the newest 7th building completed in 2019. The role will operate on shift work throughout the day and includes keyholding, security and locking & unlocking at different times of the day supporting the range of courses at the University and its public theatres.
Working within the facilities & estates team and reporting into the Deputy Head of Facilities, the position shall be responsible for routine building maintenance, coordinating planned preventative maintenance and supporting in the implementation of a new facilities management system.
Through managing requirements and scheduling work to internal trade teams and external contractors, you will play a key part in ensuring that Central’s estates & facilities are maintained to a very high standard. You will act as the first point of contact for planned preventative maintenance contractors, project contracts and call outs contractors and handle all day to day operations within the remit of the department.
You will be able to demonstrate your skills in planning, organisation and hands on maintenance combined with an ability to work at pace dealing with critical, time sensitive issues. You will bring a fresh, forward thinking, logical approach to the team and will be exceptionally well organised to manage the variety of tasks and demands.
