Research Fellow in Public Health
We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Public Heath to join the Aberdeen Centre of Health Data Science, University of Aberdeen. You will join a team of staff and collaborators within ACHDS to lead the delivery of evidence reviews and analysis of unique large-scale electronic health record data sets, working across a number of innovative studies that focus on understanding the social and environmental determinants of health and wellbeing across the life course to inform interventions to improve health and reduce inequalities.

You will support the development and delivery of a cross-cutting knowledge–exchange programme including a series of public health seminars and workshops (3 per year) that will bring together health and social care practitioners across the NHS, Local Authorities and Third Sector with academics from a range of disciplines and methodologies focused on specific topics (e.g. healthy aging, adolescent mental health, child poverty).
We seek expertise in literature reviewing, public health and epidemiology to:
- Carry out literature reviews and evidence synthesis to support translation of research into public health action and development of bids for research funding
- Develop and deliver a portfolio of projects related to population health inequalities
- Work with patients, public, and practitioners to understand, interpret and communicate with data in order to improve patient care/inform public health policy and practice.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 6, £35,333 - £38,592 per annum, and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
