Job Title: R&D Project Assistant Manager

JOB PURPOSE
Unilever's Deodorants Category manages the iconic brands of Sure/Rexona, Lynx/Axe, and Dove. The category is in an exciting phase as it focusses on innovation in technologies that benefit both our consumers and our planet.
This job is based in the Innovation project team within the Global Innovation Design team. You will either lead or work within cross capability teams to deliver cross- brand projects for the range of Deodorant applicators as well as supporting the Formulation Deodorant strategy.
The position is based within the Deodorant Category Design Centre, Leeds UK.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing superior formulation solutions, based on clear insights, to ensure our consumers have products that delight
- Project management - As either formulation lead on large projects or technical lead on smaller initiatives.
- Communication, collaboration and influencing with a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Create impact in a fast-paced team environment by fostering both internal and external partnerships from early concept through market delivery.
- Lead and support everyday workplans for junior members of the team, including training and coaching

Education: Graduate Calibre – degree in Science/Engineering with chemistry background or equivalent experience in capability field.
Relevant Experience:
- Proven experience in formulation development including significant lab experience
- Project management and prioritisation in a fast-paced environment
- Clear understanding of importance of Consumer, customer and competitor focus
- Information and data management, including capture and interpretation
- Some experience of scientific story telling would be desirable

Recruitment Fraud
Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.
How is Unilever tackling this?
Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
