About The Role
Hippo Digital is recruiting for Intermediate Business Analysts to join our growing team. Business Analysts translate complex business problems and user needs into a set of detailed requirements for the end-to-end service or product, with the appropriate use of epics, features, user stories and defined acceptance criteria. You'll clearly and accurately communicate business requirements and user needs to a variety of stakeholders, including SMEs and the team, using the appropriate methods of communication or documentation.
As anIntermediate Consultant, specialising in Business Analysis, you’ll be on your way to becoming an expert in your field. You’ll be inquisitive, keen to learn and be an advocate for agile deliveries. Hippo will provide exciting opportunities to develop and share your expertise with clients and team members, and to develop into an expert Business Analyst.
Your role in a nutshell:
- Work with the Product Owner and/or Delivery Manager to establish and maintain a prioritised product, programme or project backlog of what needs to be built
- Work with designers to inform the creation and iteration of prototypes for the services or product to solve the problems users face
- Document business processes for products or services to inform recommendations identifying clear benefits and contributing to delivery plans
- Use insights from user research and metrics to inform the business analysis approach, and explain your business decisions clearly
- Be an advocate in Agile delivery, helping to identify the best Agile processes for projects and measuring the success of outcomes.
- Run workshops with your team and stakeholders
- Build long-term relationships with stakeholders
- Advocate for the use of agile business analysis in particular for the delivery of products or services
- Advise and support business analysis colleagues and other members of Agile teams.
- Work with the hippo business analysis community to share best practice to ensure high standards, including attending business analysis events and writing blog posts

We don’t need you to have any certificates or qualifications, but we do need to be confident that you can demonstrate the following:
- Have strong business analysis skills including communication, listening and organisational skills
- Have expertise in eliciting and management requirements to meet user needs within a product or services focussed project
- Enjoy working collaboratively with your team and experts
- Be comfortable working in rapid sprint cycles
- Be a strong presenter and happy to sell the benefits of business analysis to people who aren’t familiar with the discipline
- Have a positive “can do” attitude
- Have the ability to develop great consultancy skills, caring about your client’s needs and motivations
- Enjoy sharing your skills and experience with your client to enable them to continue to iterate and improve content after you leave
- Experience of working in an Agile workplace

Hippo locations
Our Hippo offices are in Leeds, London, Bristol, Birmingham and Manchester. However, we invite candidates to apply from anywhere in the UK who can be flexible regarding location. We offer a relocation support package of up to £8k to help cover the cost of moving somewhere within commuting distance of one of our locations. Please note that due to the nature of the business, we may also request that you work from client locations or your home.
