About the role
We haveambitious plans for a new funded partnership programme where every young person in education in England will have the opportunity to transform the green space on their education estate, increasing biodiversity and developing a meaningful connection to nature, understanding the concepts of climate change and biodiversity loss and feeling able to do something about it.
This new role will strategically plan, recruit and manage the work of a small team of staff and/or paid youth interns. The team’s primary focus will be on researching, curating and developing an innovative suite of high-quality curriculum resources and learning materials to support pupils and educators to increase the biodiversity and sustainability of their education estate. This will complement climate education across subject areas by providing opportunities to turn knowledge into practical, positive action.
About you
As a passionate advocate for inclusive climate and biodiversity education in schools, you will have experience of developing and delivering curriculum linked learning activities for formal educational settings. A commitment to evidence-based scientific content and pedagogy is key to the role.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to form and maintain good relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. As well as an in-depth knowledge of the National Curriculum for England, awareness of the wider education landscape and government policy in education and/or environment will be useful.
Understanding of co-design approaches for learning activity development as well as an understanding of best practice in monitoring and evaluation will be an advantage.
