We are a dedicated, collaborative team, working with a variety of advanced technologies, including high-throughput screening, high-content imaging, single-cell sequencing, CRISPR editing, functional genomics, proteomics, peptidomics, and statistical modelling. Together, we share a passion for translational research and a desire to discover new scientific paths to improve the lives of patients.

The Position

The Automation team within Discovery Technologies and Genomics department is expanding its capabilities for running high-throughput screens for target discovery by building an additional fully integrated automation suite comprising liquid handlers, acoustic dispenser, a high-content imaging system and additional technologies critical for running complex cell-based experimental workflows. We are seeking an experienced automation scientist/ specialist for developing, validating, and executing automation protocols to run HTS campaigns in in-vitro human cell models for novel target discovery. The role will continue to build on our aspirations for complete end-to-end digitalisation, from scheduling automation workflows to data analysis and insights.

Moreover, you will:

  • Lead operations on technologically advanced integrated automation platforms where you will develop, validate and execute automation methods and multi-day/week workflows
  • Lead execution of large-scale, arrayed phenotypic screens using siRNA, CRISPR, peptide or small molecule approaches in complex in vitro human cell models to identify the next novel drug targets for the company
  • Develop walkaway automation protocols to maximise utilisation of the platform
  • Work with third party vendors to ensure hardware and software integration as well as maintenance of laboratory automation
  • Develop expertise to troubleshoot technical and hardware issues and rectify them
