Location: Remote - very ocassional travel to Northampton

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000

You and your role.

Working in the Business Insight team, developing high-quality, engaging corporate reporting to stakeholders around the business, and leading on the data inputs to external regulatory reporting. Blending the technical skills and knowledge required to work with large volumes of varied data, and the stakeholder management skills to proactively understand requirements and manage expectations.

  • Leading the development of new insight dashboards and reports in Tableau, in consultation with colleagues around the business to ensure requirements are understood and met.
  • Supporting the Head of BI in proactively providing polished day-to-day data and insight to colleagues, reflecting business needs.
  • Using knowledge of business data to complete external regulatory data returns, and supporting internal risk and compliance reporting.
  • Automating these processes where appropriate.
  • Organising a range of periodic (daily, weekly, monthly) management information and KPI reports to support the TICORP business.
  • Becoming the team’s key working-level liaison with the finance team, ensuring MI reconciles with financial statements and delivering ad hoc insight.
  • Working with the data integration team to ensure that changes to the underlying data fields and structure are understood and managed effectively between the two teams.

Essential:

  • High level of numeracy
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical staff to understand requirements and propose solutions
  • Proactive mindset – ability to provide advice and insight to colleagues before they know they need it.
  • Communication skills – ability to explain complex concepts in a clear way.
  • Demonstrable experience of paying attention to detail and putting processes in place to check work and minimise errors.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with Tableau to produce engaging, interactive insight.
  • Experience in / understanding of financial services / insurance.
  • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders, and demonstrable ability to tailor communication style to suit a senior audience.
  • Basic SQL, R, Python skills are a bonus, but not a requirement.
  • Comfortable public speaking / presenting to a medium-sized audience
