Marine Technician/Boatyard Operative
The Outboard Centre Ltd is a family run business based in Birdham, Chichester with over 32 years’ experience in the industry offering reliable and friendly support for all things ‘outboard’ related.
We offer complete boat management from haul out to valeting, winterisation and winter storage. Our products and services include outboard engineering, engine repairs, boat maintenance, launch and recovery, emergency call out, antifouling, valeting, winter storage and engine winterisation and full technical support.
We are looking for 1-2 hard working and enthusiastic individuals to join our rapidly expanding team to help us to deliver a first rate customer experience.
Marine Technicians
Working alongside our Marine Engineers, will ideally have experience in the marine leisure industry, boat handling skills, outboard engineering experience and trailer towing experience
Boatyard Operatives
Working alongside our experienced Marine Engineers and Technicians, assisting with washing and valeting boats, antifouling and copper coating and will learn boat handling skills, complete Boat Management/Yacht Care, how to use specialist marine equipment/tools and basic marine engineering including boat mechanical and electrical systems
This position requires individuals who are dependable, self starters, able to work independently and use own initiative. We are looking for prompt and reliable individuals who are committed to providing a high quality customer service to include anticipating and understanding needs, managing expectations and communicating challenges or delays that may occur.
We offer a competitive salary dependent on both experience and skills. The contract is for a 40 hour week, 8am to 6pm, with some additional early starts and Saturdays. Please note there will be a probation period of 3 months. A full, clean UK driving licence is essential.
Part time roles and flexible working hours will also be considered.
A Marine Engineering apprenticeship scheme and a Powerboat Level 2 training course may be offered to successful candidates.

Salary: £18,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
