As the UK’s regulator for the energy industry, Ofgem works on behalf of energy consumers to ensure that every household and business in the UK can rely on a safe energy supply.
Within the role of Risk and Assurance Officer, you’ll be responsible for identifying emerging risks, and ensuring the ongoing schemes run by Ofgem are delivered effectively, in line with all necessary requirements and codes, and supporting the wider team in the delivery of crucial programmes and activities. You will be working across the Delivery and Schemes Directorate, for the development and delivery of the directorate’s Risk and Assurance Frameworks, acting as a point of contact for team enquiries.
You’ll be required to manage routine risk and assurance activities, identifying and escalating problems where necessary, and reporting against the Internal Assurance actions tracker.
You should be able to review, scrutinise and challenge processes and documents such as operating procedures and guidance documents.

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of stakeholders and will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient operations. You will be able to prioritise effectively to deliver at pace, and collaborate effectively with team members.
Whilst previous experience within risk would be advantageous, we’re also looking for candidates who possess the right skills and attitude for the job.
