Our 28-year-old client who suffered a stroke and acquired brain injury lives independently from her close-knit family. She enjoys listening to music, nights out to see live bands, going for a meal or spending time with her small fur babies. E is looking for a friendly and empathetic Support Worker to allow her to manage her anxiety and daily care.
The Role/Client:

E has had epilepsy all her life which is managed by medication, following elective surgery, 6 years ago she suffered a stroke. She is mobile but has left-sided weakness which affects her mobility and hand function. E is fully verbal. She can become anxious at times and rigid in her thinking due to her brain injury.

You will assist E to access the community and will be required to provide personal care for E which may include helping her with her contact lenses, hair and makeup, helping her with her splints, setting up her catheter, running a bath for her and making her bed.

You will be required to help prepare meals and there will be some light cleaning.

You will be a patient, empathetic person who is able to calm E when she becomes anxious.

You will be caring, friendly, reliable and have a positive outlook on life as well as being flexible and a good timekeeper.

You will ideally have previous experience working in Care but please do apply if you have limited experience as full training will be provided and you will be supported by a Team Leader and Case Manager.

E has rabbits and a hamster so you will be an animal lover with no allergies.

You will need to be a driver able to drive our client’s automatic vehicle.
Pay:
£16 per hour
Hours / Shifts:

Various shifts are available throughout the week:

09:30 to 15:30 (6 hours)
-
15:30 to 21:30 (6 hours)

Long days are also available
-
Waking Night shifts also available 21:30 to 09:30
