About the role

Absolute Networks Ltd are seeking to recruit an additional IT Support Technician to join our experienced, friendly and supportive team based in Derby. The successful candidate will provide exceptional IT support to our varied and growing portfolio of business clients by telephone, email and using remote control applications.

Duties within the role (not an exhaustive list)

· Diagnose first-level technical issues over the phone, via email and remotely

· Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks

· Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults

· Providing support, following diagrams and written instructions, to repair a fault or set-up a system

· Supporting the installation of new applications

· Setting-up new users’ accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues

· Responding within SLA time limits to call-outs

· Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with customers and other professionals

· Logging faults with suppliers

· Keeping users updated as to the status of their problem/request

· Adhere to all applicable company policies and procedures

· Other reasonable duties as required by Senior Management

Required skills and experience:

· 5 GCSE's including English Language & Maths or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

· Minimum of 1 year's industry experience OR IT subject graduate

· Customer service experience (from any industry) essential

· Understanding of good customer service

· Ability to learn and develop skills to keep-up with industry developments and changes

· Proactive in self-learning

· Ability to work efficiently and effectively by organising and prioritising jobs

· Good basic level of written English

· Active Directory User Management

· Office 365 user management

· Basic networking knowledge and understanding

· MS Office 2013 – 2019

· MS Windows 10-11

Desirable skills and experience:

· Telephone service experience

· An excellent telephone manner (training to perfect this can be provided)

· Full UK driving licence

· Windows Server based Infrastructure 2012 R2 – 2022

· Virtualization

· Switch/Router/Firewall Configuration
