We are recruiting an experienced digital, copy and PR writer to join our busy growing team. This new role will offer the right person the opportunity to help shape the communications and brand voice of City of Portsmouth College, internally and externally, driving employee engagement, increasing recruitment, celebrating our amazing students and transforming lives.

The key purpose of this role is to generate creative ideas, plan and produce creative content and concepts that meet the College’s objectives through the development and delivery of a digital content strategy to span web, social, email and paid-for advertising to key external audiences.


Main responsibilities of the Assistant Digital, PR and Copywriter
are:


  • To help generate creative ideas, plan and produce creative content and concepts that grow business, meet objectives and win awards.
  • To support the development and delivery of a digital content strategy to span web, social, email and paid-for advertising to key external audiences.
  • To help oversee all digital content, new and existing, to improve search rankings, website bounce, exit rates and to increase website conversions to applications.
  • To support the creation and production of high-performing paid-for digital content that is hosted across various digital adverting platforms including Google search, YouTube, Meta platforms, audio streaming and more.
  • To support the management of cross-campus PR and related internal and external PR events to drive recruitment, awareness, and gain outstanding media coverage.
  • To work with key internal stakeholders to support and maintain the development of a dynamic, vibrant and engaging intranet for employees across all four campuses.
  • To maintain relationships with key media across Portsmouth and beyond.
  • To support the management of crisis PR and coordination of College communications.
  • To help record and evaluate PR and/or digital campaign success, continuously implementing changes to improve results.
  • To support the delivery of stand out, on brand copy, tailored to specific audiences with a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • To proofread, edit and develop content produced by colleagues.
  • To support the preparation of award nomination documentation for both students and staff.

The City of Portsmouth College was formed in August 2021, from the merger of Highbury College and Portsmouth College merged to form the City of Portsmouth College.
