Science Technician – North London – ASAP Start
A successful North London School are seeking a Science Technician to join their school on a full time basis. The school are open to candidates who can start immediately and applicants who can start from April 2023. Working hours are 8am-4pm Monday to Friday, term time only. Applicants should have good general education, with at least GCSE grade 5 in Maths and English (or equivalent), and a relevant laboratory or scientific higher qualification. The hourly rate of pay for this role is £13-£16 per hour.

About the role:
The successful Science Technician will provide classroom support within Science lessons and exams including preparation and clearing up of practical’s, and provision of specialist advice to staff and students.
Duties will include:
- Taking responsibility for the risk assessment, ordering, storage and distribution of resources (including chemicals).
- Preparing apparatus, materials and solutions and setting up equipment and apparatus for use in practical classes.
- Constructing and modifying apparatus.
- Retrieving and clearing away apparatus etc. after use.
- Setting up and carrying out demonstrations
- Providing technical advice and assistance to teachers and students.
- Assisting in practical classes as required.
- Advising teaching staff of technical requirements raised by the curriculum and contribute to the development of the school’s practical work.
- Maintaining specialist equipment.
- Taking care of the school’s reptiles
