The role
Due to retirement an opportunity has arisen for a Site Services Manager to join our team at Tilmanstone Salads, based near Dover in Kent. Our site employs around 850 people and each year it produces millions of bags of leafy salads and prepared vegetables for a dedicated customer. Reporting into the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for managing site services to optimise productions levels.
You will be a self-motivated and organised individual with previous experience in a chilled food environment. You will also manage planned, predictive, and reactive maintenance to prevent issues occurring. Within this role you will also support the operational teams
Duties will include.
Manage the development of site asset strategies to meet legal and environmental compliance.
Develop and maintain an effective and accurate maintenance cost plan, regularly provide updates to stakeholders, value engineer and provide expenditure forecasts.
Develop impact and contingency plans for estate asset and/or service failure in consultation with subject matter experts.
Contribute to reports, for example, internal performance reports, estate asset management plans, reports to sector specific regulators and certifying bodies.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of estate asset management systems.
Support the selection of external suppliers, the setting of objectives for suppliers and performance measurement of suppliers within the context of the organisation’s estate asset management approach.
Champion the estate asset management approach, including implementation of the resource and competence strategy, within the organisation to support clear and consistent decision making.
Undertake technical performance reviews in collaboration with the organisation’s functions and stakeholders.
Manage engineering documentation to ensure it is current.
Manage availability and performance of estate asset maintenance tools and equipment. Review suitability and efficiency.
Management of day-to-day HR activities for direct reports.
Requires Skills & Experience:
- Engineering Apprenticeship level 3
- NEBOSH General Certificate
- NEBOSH Environment Certificate
- Demonstrates strong people management skills
- Previous experience within a similar role in a FMCG environment
- Engineering degree would be desirable
- Computer Literate in all Microsoft packages
- Understanding of Good Hygiene working practises
