Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a new Head of Student Services to join our new ONCAMPUS Loughborough centre, part of Cambridge Education Group.
The role is on a full-time, permanent basis and it will be based in Loughborough, United Kingdom.
The Head of Student Services will lead the Student Services team, working alongside the Centre Academic, and Leadership teams as well as Central ONCAMPUS and other ONCAMPUS centre teams. Working with the Centre Leadership team there will be opportunity to present and deliver new initiatives, evolve existing processes and ensure that student progress is accurately tracked and recorded.
The key objectives of the role are to lead the student services team in the centre to ensure that academic and student data is collected and managed to ONCAMPUS and Higher Education/University partner standards. Whilst assisting the Centre Leadership team in managing the administrative systems and resources to ensure compliance with procedures, policies and requirements of ONCAMPUS and any external bodies eg partner university teams, the relevant academic authorities and relevant immigration agencies.
Key responsibilities:
- To lead, manage and contribute to the academic and student service provision, with a view to constantly improving the student experience, the admission of students to the ONCAMPUS programme and maximising progression opportunities for the Centre’s students.
- To assist the Centre Leadership team in ensuring that systems and procedures are in place for the maintenance of accurate records on all aspects of the delivery and management of ONCAMPUS programmes.
- To manage, motivate, appraise, and develop relevant staff to achieve both their objectives and their full personal potential.
- To organise and contribute to the administrative induction of new academic staff to the centre, helping to ensure that they are familiar with the ONCAMPUS academic regulations and compliance requirements eg Higher Education/University partner, relevant academic authorities e.g. QAA, relevant immigration agencies e.g. UKVI.
Person specification & experience
- Experience in an administrative position and a record of attention to detail
- An understanding of Higher Education and the needs and requirements of International Students
- Experience of the development and review of information system processes and procedures
- Demonstrate cultural awareness and understanding
- A commitment to teamwork and an ability to allocate resources effectively and efficiently, both human and physical
- Planning and organisational skills and an ability to take initiative within a customer orientated environment
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- The ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work under pressure
