We are looking for Technical Support Assistants to join our team.
The Opportunity:
You will have the responsibility of day-to-day housekeeping cleaning duties within Bioresearch & Veterinary Services facilities. These tasks include essential sterilisation support duties in the wash-up areas, including cleaning used rodent cages/fish tanks and rodent drinking water bottles. The ability to work in a physically demanding environment is essential. There are no recommended minimum qualifications, and may well suit school leavers; a knowledge of Animal Welfare/Husbandry would be an advantage. All appropriate training will be provided and there is the opportunity to gain further qualifications. Junior Technical Assistant will be expected to enrol in a distance learning course on Animal Technology.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Needed for the Job
Essential
- School education to standard grades or equivalent
- Basic understanding of, and ability to apply, health and safety procedures in the workplace
- Familiarity with standard IT equipment
- Accuracy and ability to follow instruction
- Understand the principles behind caring for animals and what their basic requirements are
- Good communication skills
Desirable
- Work experience with Animals
