Overview
As a Buy to Let Officer within our Buy to Let Primary Servicing team, you will work across various loan portfolios on behalf of multiple clients and will undertake a range of post completion loan servicing activities in accordance with service level agreements, procedures and current legislation.
Our clients range from banks, specialist lenders and private equity funds and the customers within their portfolios will include individuals, partnerships, SPVs and Limited Companies.
You will be required to deliver an excellent level of service at all times, whilst ensuring that we are Treating Customers Fairly and delivering the best outcome.
Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities
Strategic Focus
- Identify and recommend enhancements to processes, procedures and systems and ensure the Buy to Let Servicing Manager, Buy to Let Team Leader and Commercial Improvement Manager are engaged to oversee the change required.
- Assist with projects as defined by the Buy to Let Team Leader by meeting agreed deadlines and achieving specific objectives.
Operational Management
- Understand the terms and conditions of a customer’s loan so that they can be clearly explained to, and met by, the customer.
- Review and process requests for information accurately and within service level agreements.
- Receive and resolve standard loan enquiries from customers and their advisors.
- Ensure information relating to customers and their loans is current and accurate. Process any amendments to customer’s accounts accurately and in accordance with procedures and regulatory requirements
- Ensure that customers are correctly informed of payments due and that the collection of the required payment is made accurately and in accordance with BACS rules.
- Process requests for redemption statements in a prompt and timely manner and ensure that upon receipt of required funds the loan security is released in accordance with procedures and agreed SLAs.
- Calculation and processing of financial transactions in the servicing system.
- Ensure that new loans are boarded accurately and correct correspondence has been issued.
- Oversight of loans approaching expiry and ensuring appropriate follow up action is taken.
- Reviewing company watch notifications received and taking appropriate follow up action.
- Liaise professionally with clients, third parties and other areas of the business.
- Report any system or loan issues accurately, proactively and in a timely and professional manner, making recommendations as necessary and expressing technical opinions.

- Competent using Microsoft Office packages.
Desirable
- Experience within the mortgage/lending industry.
- Basic knowledge of buy to let mortgages and specialist finance in the UK.
- Knowledge of the applicable regulations governing the financial services industry.
- Customer service experience.
- Knowledge of the loan redemption process.
