Job Description
We are looking for someone to join our welcoming team at Danesford Grange Care Home as an activities co-ordinator.
Danesford Grange is a privately owned care home based in the idyllic town of Bridgnorth, Shropshire. The home, sat in around 2 acres of land is located in the Shropshire countryside right on the bank of the river seven. The current founders have owned the home since 1990 and the current manager has worked here for nearly 20 years.
Danesford Grange offers a warm and friendly atmosphere for both the residents and the staff. The dedicated team of staff provide high quality nursing care to the elderly and residents with dementia.
The Home Manager is very flexible and can accommodate both full and part time hours, we welcome applications from people with both experience and those who may not have experience but are passionate about care and would like to try something new.
We are looking for someone with lots of creativity i.e. someone interested in craftwork, playing games, baking, gardening, painting, knitting etc
The role:
1. To participate in enhancing the intellectual and social well-being of the residents as far as possible, a happy and stimulating experience. Help residents to socialise within the care home.
2. Encourage staff members, relatives and friends to participate in the homes activities.
3. To plan ongoing weekly activity rotas in conjunction with the residents wishes, and encourage residents to maintain pre-existing hobbies.
4. To assess individual needs continuously.
5. Maintain full and accurate records of activities using the relevant documents, in order to monitor, record and evaluate individual and group participation and success.
6. To keep abreast with new developments in the field of caring for older people.
7. Assist in the organisation of fund raising initiatives within the home.
8. To assist the Social Activities Coordinator in planning the homes special events such as summer fetes, coffee mornings, etc.
9. To be organised and be able to plan work efficiently.
10. To enjoy working with people and a patient and caring disposition.
11. To have empathy and a desire to improve peoples’ lives, demonstrating a non-discriminatory approach to colleagues and clients.
12. To Plan and coordinate external trips for Residents
Salary: £8.50-£10.00 per hour
