Apprentice Administrator
We are looking to recruit 2 Apprentices to work alongside a team of Patient Pathway Co-ordinators, Community Paediatricians and Therapists within Specialist Children and Young People’s Services.
The apprentice will be expected to learn and perform a wide range of administrative duties such as:
- Working in a fast paced and busy environment
- Ability to prioritise workload
- Reception coverage to meet and greet visitors, transferring calls to appropriate team
- Internal and external communication via telephone, email and face to face
- Routine administrative tasks such as filing, scanning and uploading of documents onto RIO
- Sorting out posts for the service ensuring that every referral and correspondence is date stamped, scanned and uploaded onto RIO
- Compliant with the use of RIO system to process referrals and book appointments.
- Creating new referral on RIO for every referral received by post or via the generic inbox
- Transferring the new referral to the correct pathway post-triaged by the doctor

- To take and relay clear messages. This includes handling queries from other professionals and obtaining information to enable these to be dealt with as effectively and speedily as possible.
- To deal sensitively with service users or their carers/ relatives who may be distressed.
- To exercise judgment when dealing with enquiries and resolve patient problems by providing information and advice regarding appointments or the service as appropriate, or by passing on to the appropriate team member.
- Use Microsoft packages such MS word and MS excel
To use information technology for a range of purposes
