The Opportunity

We have an opening permanent contract for a Logistics Manager EMEA to join the Supply Chain department based in our Addlestone, UK office. The Logistics Manager EMEA will play an active role in ensuring excellent customer experience is delivered across region through efficient and effective warehousing and distribution operations. This hands-on role will ensure the best practice logistical processes are implemented to meet the current and future needs of the business whilst driving regulatory compliance, efficiency, performance, and cost control.


Responsibilities include:

  • Build a high-performance culture through coaching, mentoring and regular performance feedback for team members, own and drive ‘Leading the Way’ initiative within Operations team
  • Hold scheduled meetings with the team to review performance and identify operational issues, corrective actions and align responsibilities
  • Provide inspirational leadership for the Logistics team to ensure that attraction and retention of top talent and high team retention.
  • Working with the regional Quality Management team ensure that all warehousing is fully compliant to all required QMS, GMP, GDP and MDR standards and that warehouses always remain ISO13485 ‘audit’ ready.
  • Setting the regional template, policy and governance for all warehousing and logistics operations across region, and work with key in-market stakeholders to ensure compliance with these standard operating procedures.
  • Core focus on the tactical and strategic operation of the regional DC (distribution centre) in Addlestone (goods-in, picking & packing and shipping), courier & transport operations (as delivered by 3rd parties)
  • Ensure that customer orders are dispatched within the agreed customer service level agreements (SLA’s)
  • Responsible for jointly driving the tactical and strategic direction of the regional supply chain.
  • Ensure right level of communication is in place to drive collaboration and performance, within and outside the Logistics team
  • Develop and maintain a capacity planning road map for all logistical areas, to understand the supply chain capacity and mitigate risk areas, through forward planning to always maximize performance and service.
  • Build a performance culture, driven by data, through the development and deployment of relevant KPIs

About You. As we grow our operations, we are looking for people who share our passion for delivering quality hearing solutions to our customers. To add value to Cochlear in this role, you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:


Essential

Minimum:

  • 5 years working within FMCG or ‘distributor model’ supply chain organization
  • Widespread end to end Supply Chain knowledge, with experience gained across the value chain
  • Leadership skills – Supports and nurtures their people to maximize individual performance, whilst building a strong highly effective team
  • Driven by a passion to deliver exceptional customer experience
  • Collaboration skills – Build trust and establish long-term sustainable collaborative relationships and partnerships, with stakeholders, customers and suppliers
  • Excellent planning and organization skills
  • Problem solving through analysis and innovative thought and communicate findings.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety requirements within operational environments
  • Capable of working under pressure, in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to manage conflict and positive resolution of issues
  • Experience of working within a Quality Management environment, gained within either medical devices (ISO13485), food, pharmaceuticals, or similar businesses

Ideal:

  • Membership of Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, APICs or similar professional body
  • Experienced gained working within complex European/ EMEA matrix organizations
  • Successful delivery of projects within the supply chain space
  • Experience with Oracle inventory modules
  • Supply chain budgeting experience
  • Ability to read and analyze financial reports and variances
  • Good presentation skills and the ability to deliver briefings
  • Lean 6 Sigma or similar qualification
