We are looking for an experienced Mental Health Money Advisor to work as part of our Advice, Information & Training Team.

The Mental Health and Money Advice Service is the first UK-wide service to address mental and financial health together. We aim to stop the spiral of debt and mental health issues by providing online information and advice and casework provided by telephone. The service launched in November 2017, commissioned by Mental Health UK and delivered by Rethink Mental Illness in England, Hafal in Wales, Support in Mind in Scotland and Mindwise in Northern Ireland.
How you will make a difference
I provide both advice and casework to clients by telephone who are experiencing mental health and money problems. I also provide this service to friends, carers and relatives and professionals involved in supporting these clients.-
I complete the debt advice process with clients by providing advice and casework on a range of debt solutions and strategies.

I provide advice and casework on welfare benefits including benefit checks and helping with initial claims, mandatory reconsiderations and appeals.

I provide advice and casework in relation to mental health issues such as accessing treatment and care.

I can demonstrate a commitment to delivering a service that meets the quality requirements of our funders.

What we are looking for
We are looking for an individual who:

I can evidence training (caseworker and/or specialist levels) in money advice from accredited training providers e.g. IMA, Wiser Adviser, Citizens Advice pathways

I have at least 2 years’ experience providing money advice (including debt and financial capability, welfare benefits/income max) either face to face or via telephone

I have at least 1 years’ experience of providing casework covering debt, welfare benefits or mental health

I have at least 1 years’ experience of working with electronic case recording systems
-
I have at least 1 years’ experience in remote advice delivery e.g. telephone, email, virtual chat etc.
