Job Description

Main duties of the job

To support and develop the provision of a cost effective, efficient, and responsive Distribution Centre service. This will include development and implementation of inventory management systems on the site linking in with the business finance systems conduction UAT testing and signing off on changes post implementation of new and varying systems.

Managing a competent and committed Distribution Centre team, capable of translating customer needs into delivered goods and services at the right price, to the correct destination and by the required time whilst achieving savings and value for money.

To be a point of contact for operational matters and issues that arise with the remit of providing timely solutions.

Corporate responsibility for major policy implementation and introduction of statutory and local policies, procedures, and services in procurement these will have an impact on other specialties clinical and non- clinical beyond the business.

To attend on request business board meetings across all customer sites covered under the distribution centre umbrella. Reporting and presenting on KPI’s and reporting outcomes or providing advice on any targets set by business board or CEOs as applicable.

Education & professional Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
  • Degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Management or equivalent.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Proven experience managing a large team of technical, skilled and unskilled staff.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of Building, Mechanical or Electrical Plant & Equipment.
  • Experience of managing large budgets and delivering services within budgetary limits
  • Experience in drafting processes and policies for department approval.
  • Experience team leader.
  • Successfully leading change management across a large and complex staff group. H&S Legislation and requirements.
  • Detailed knowledge of other relevant current legislation/guidance and associated statutory requirements.
  • Detailed knowledge of the structuring and maintenance of computer based PPM schedules.

Skills and aptitudes

Essential criteria
  • People/ staff management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both writing and verbal.
  • Good team building/leadership skills. Sound IT knowledge and experience.
