Job Description
This is a unique opportunity for paralegals to support the high-profile statutory Public Inquiry investigating Scotland’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The contract will run for a minimum of 12 months and there is more than one position.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting solicitors with preparation of core participant documentation
- Assisting solicitors with preparation of inquiry protocols
- Cross checking documents before publication
- Liaising with secretariat on operation of core participant applications, including updating guidance
- Liaising and supporting Counsel
- Liaison with the solicitors representing any core participants
- Responding to Inquiry correspondence
- Carrying out other tasks required by the inquiry, including providing cover for the wider team of paralegals
To be considered for this position you should be an experienced paralegal or have similar relevant experience. This role is Edinburgh based, however there is an opportunity to work fully remotely. The role is a fixed term contract for 12 months but there is scope for this to be extended beyond 12 months.
