This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of the multidisciplinary team within Integrated Community Paediatric Services in Suffolk.
The team works in partnership with the child/young person and parent/carer, to provide 24/7 short break care to children/young people with complex health needs. This includes children/young people with multiple conditions and disabilities including those who are dependent on technology and require a high level of clinical care
The team enable families to have a much-needed break, or support from their caring role and ensures the child experiences developmentally appropriate activities.
All clinical training is completed while in the role, however, the candidate will need to show a high level of understanding and the ability to learn and develop new skills.
A qualification as a Nursery Nurse or equivalent is essential to this post as demonstrates understanding of childhood development which can be incorporated and adapted into the childs respite care, developing new and innovate ways of engaging in play and stimulation.
Due to the nature of the role the families build a rapport and trust with the staff of the Complex Care team. The candidate must also link and liaise with the Management Team, through communication and teamwork, ensuring holistic care of the families is met and the voice of the child is always heard.
